What I Tested — My Evaluation Criteria
I evaluated each exchange across 90 days with a standardized test protocol: 100 trades per platform (mix of scalp, swing, and position), same BTC/ETH perpetual contracts, real capital throughout. Here's what I measured:
Execution quality
Slippage, fill rates, and latency on $10K+ orders
Actual total cost
Maker/taker fees + funding rates over 30 days
Platform tooling
Charts, alerts, risk management, API quality
Support quality
Response time and issue resolution for real problems
Security track record
Audit transparency, proof of reserves, incident history
Mobile experience
iOS/Android app quality for managing open positions

My Rating
4.7/5
- 400+ USDT perpetual futures covering BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, and 395+ altcoins — the largest perpetuals selection of any exchange in 2026.
- Copy trading platform with 100,000+ verified strategy providers, 3-year performance history, and 14 filtering metrics — the best copy trading ecosystem by far.
- 0.02% maker / 0.055% taker fees. Using the BYB token for fee payment adds 10% further discount. VIP 4 drops to 0.012% maker.
- TradingView integration is seamless and fast — charting and order entry on the same screen without lag. Better than Binance and OKX in my side-by-side tests.
- iOS/Android app rated 4.8/5 across both stores. Managing open futures positions, setting alerts, and adjusting stop losses on mobile is frictionless.
Pros
- 400+ perpetuals — most of any major exchange
- Best copy trading: 100K+ providers, 3yr history
- Fastest TradingView chart integration
- Best mobile app for futures management
- Competitive 0.02%/0.055% fee structure
Cons
- Lower BTC/ETH order book depth than Binance
- No unified margin (futures and spot are separate)
- Restricted in US
- Customer support response times can be slow
Ron's Verdict: Best overall choice for most futures traders in 2026. If you want copy trading, altcoin perps, or the best mobile trading experience, Bybit is the answer.

My Rating
4.6/5
- Binance accounts for roughly 60% of global crypto futures volume. The BTC/USDT perpetual alone trades $20–30B per day. At this depth, you can execute $5M+ orders with minimal slippage — no other exchange comes close.
- 500+ perpetual futures pairs across every significant category. Binance lists new tokens within 24–48 hours of trending — faster than any competitor. If you want to trade the newest coins, Binance lists them first.
- Fees are 0.02% maker / 0.05% taker at base tier. Using BNB for fee payment gives 10% discount. VIP 9 (very high volume) drops to 0.0% maker — completely free for market makers.
- The Binance Futures mobile app is competitive but lags behind Bybit on UX fluidity. The web platform is comprehensive but can feel cluttered for new users — there are simply too many features visible simultaneously.
Pros
- $50B+ daily volume — deepest liquidity globally
- Best execution on large BTC/ETH orders
- 500+ futures pairs with fastest new listings
- Lowest possible fees at VIP 9 tier (0% maker)
- Best institutional infrastructure and API
Cons
- Not available in US (Binance.US has no futures)
- Web platform overwhelming for new users
- Customer support slow at retail volume
- No copy trading built in
Ron's Verdict: Best for trading large positions on BTC/ETH where execution quality and slippage matter most. At $50B daily volume, Binance has no competition for order book depth.
OKX — Best for Futures + Options Combined
Unified Trading Account · 300+ perps · 0.02% maker
Daily Volume
$8B+
Futures Pairs
300+
Unified Margin
Yes
My Rating
4.5/5
- OKX's Unified Trading Account is the standout feature: spot, futures, and options share a single margin pool. A $50K ETH spot position counts toward futures margin — you don't need to park idle USDT as collateral if you hold the underlying.
- 300+ perpetual futures pairs at 0.02% maker / 0.05% taker. The fee structure is identical to Binance but OKX's VIP tiers are more accessible — you hit meaningful discounts at $500K monthly volume vs Binance's $1M threshold.
- OKX's Web3 DEX aggregator integrated within the same interface is unique — you can hedge a futures position on spot DEX immediately without transferring funds out to a separate wallet.
- Futures copy trading is available but less developed than Bybit — 8,000 providers vs Bybit's 100,000+. Good enough for basic copy trading but not a primary reason to choose OKX.
Pros
- Unified margin = best capital efficiency
- Futures + options + spot in one account
- Accessible VIP tiers for fee discounts
- Integrated Web3 DEX within same platform
- Good mobile app (4.6/5)
Cons
- Lower futures liquidity than Bybit or Binance
- Copy trading much smaller than Bybit
- OKB token required for maximum fee discounts
- Geographic restrictions
Ron's Verdict: Best choice for traders who combine futures with options or spot margin. The unified account capital efficiency is the single best reason to choose OKX over Bybit in 2026.
MEXC — 0% Maker Fee, Highest Leverage
0% maker fee · 200x leverage · 1,500+ futures pairs
Maker Fee
0.00%
Max Leverage

My Rating
4.0/5
- MEXC's 0% maker fee is genuinely zero — not a small number, actual zero. For high-frequency scalpers and algorithmic traders who only use limit orders, this is mathematically unbeatable. On $10M monthly volume, you save $2,000/month vs Bybit and Binance.
- 1,500+ futures pairs is the most of any exchange in this list — MEXC lists extremely early-stage tokens as futures contracts, often 2–4 weeks before other exchanges list them spot. If your strategy involves speculating on new token launches, MEXC is the primary venue.
- 200x leverage on select pairs makes MEXC the highest-leverage exchange in this ranking. This is not a recommendation — at 200x, a 0.5% adverse move liquidates the position. But for traders who understand the risk profile, MEXC provides the maximum leverage available anywhere.
- Liquidity is the main trade-off. BTC and ETH perpetuals are liquid enough for retail-size orders. Altcoin futures outside the top 50 tokens often have 1–5% bid-ask spreads that can eat the 0% maker advantage entirely on market orders.
Pros
- 0% maker fee — genuinely zero, no caveats
- 1,500+ futures pairs — most in the industry
- 200x leverage on selected pairs
- Earliest listing of new token futures
- No native token discount required
Cons
- Thin liquidity on smaller pairs
- 0.06% taker fee (highest in this list)
- Less polished trading interface
- Less transparent regulatory standing
- Restricted in US, UK, and several EU countries
Ron's Verdict: Best for limit-order traders who want to eliminate maker fees entirely. Also best for early new token speculation. Not suitable as a primary exchange for most traders — use alongside Bybit or Binance.
Deribit — Perpetuals with the Pro Options Infrastructure
BTC/ETH perps · -0.01% maker rebate · Portfolio margin
Maker Fee
-0.01%
Pairs
50+
Portfolio Margin
Yes
My Rating
4.3/5
- Deribit's perpetual futures have a -0.01% maker rebate — you get paid to add liquidity. This is only available to traders using limit orders consistently but for algorithmic traders, it's the best economics in the industry.
- The selection is limited to BTC, ETH, and a handful of other pairs (~50 total). Deribit is purpose-built for derivatives, not a spot exchange with perps added on. If you want BTC or ETH perps alongside options, Deribit has unique portfolio margin advantages.
- Portfolio margin on Deribit allows a hedged position (long BTC perp + short BTC call) to share collateral efficiently — saving 30–50% on margin vs running both positions independently. This is unique to Deribit among futures exchanges.
- Coinbase's 2025 acquisition of Deribit gives it institutional credibility that no other crypto derivatives exchange can match. For institutional traders and fund managers, this matters enormously for counterparty risk assessment.
Pros
- -0.01% maker rebate — get paid to trade
- Portfolio margin across perps + options
- Coinbase backing = strongest institutional credibility
- Most secure derivatives exchange in 2026
- Best execution for BTC/ETH large orders (after Binance)
Cons
- Only ~50 pairs — not for altcoin futures traders
- No fiat deposit — crypto-only on-ramp
- Restricted in US, UK, Canada
- Premium learning curve for UI
Ron's Verdict: Best for BTC/ETH perp traders who also run options. The -0.01% maker rebate plus portfolio margin creates the most capital-efficient setup for advanced traders running combined positions.
Futures Fee Comparison 2026
Maker fees matter most for limit order traders. Taker fees apply when you use market orders. MEXC's 0% maker is unbeatable — but Binance's depth often means better actual fill prices on large orders.
| Exchange | Futures Maker | Futures Taker | Avg Funding | Withdrawal | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bybit | 0.02% | 0.055% | 0.01%/8h | Low | |
| Binance | 0.02% | 0.05% | 0.01%/8h | Low | Best Depth |
| OKX | 0.02% | 0.05% | 0.01%/8h | Medium | |
| MEXC | 0.00% | 0.06% | 0.01%/8h | Low | |
| Deribit | -0.01% | 0.05% | 0.01%/8h | Low |
All fees are base tier (no VIP). Funding rates vary with market conditions — check live rates at /news/.
